Problem/Symptom

Cause

 

   
a)

No red LED when plugged into the computer

1) Bad battery

b) Red LED turns off when WinLPC is started 2) Bad battery contact
 

 

3) Bad contact with computer LPT port
 
 

Solution

a) Replace battery

b) Pinch battery to holder while still plugged into the computer. Watch for red LED to brighten or turn on

c) Remove and firmly replace the programmer to the computer

 
 
 
 
 
2. Problem/Symptom Cause
     

a)

 

 

"Device not found" error

1) Bad power
2) Windows or WinLPC LPT port settings are incompatible
3) Computer LPT speed
4) Computer Power/Signal?
 
 

Solution

a) See solution for problem/symptom 1

b) Check printer port IO setting in windows device manager, change WinLPC parallel port accordingly

c) Move delay 1 notch up in WinLPC settings menu

d) Try using non alkaline, slightly used battery

e) Try using another computer. Recommend intel motherboard.

a) Error erasing/programming 1) Computer power/signal?
 
 

Solution

a) Try using another computer. Recommend intel motherboard

b) If no other computer is available then try using alkaline battery or a non alkaline or even a flat battery :-)

c) Read this if problem still occurs.
